When a ligament is damaged or stretched, it is called a sprain. A ligament is the connective tissue between your bone and your joint. Twisting or falling can sprain a ligament. If you take a hit, you may potentially develop a sprain. Spraining your wrist or ankle is the most common injury.

Swelling, bruising, pain, and restricted movement are all symptoms of a sprain. When you initially experience a sprain, you may hear a tearing or popping sound.


Strains are commonly caused by sports. A strained tendon or muscle is one that has been ripped or stretched. Tendons are the connective tissue between your bones and muscles. Shin Splints

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome
